A military sergeant of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) was killed yesterday Sunday July 16 by “unidentified bandits” in Tessit, a locality in the Gao region, the army said on Monday. The non-commissioned officer was returning to his post after a mission to Gao when he was attacked.
“The real circumstances of his death remain to be elucidated. But given some witnesses, everything suggests that he fell into a trap”, the army said on its official news site.
