The platoon of the National Guard of Djenné (Mopti region) was attacked on Wednesday, August 9, around 4 am.
According to the army, the assailants fled the “prompt and energetic response of the guards”. But a soldier on duty was wounded and transferred to Sevaré.
“The city is closed and under control. A military reinforcement from Sevare is on the scene”, said the Malian army on its official website.
On the night of July 19, armed individuals on two motorcycles fired on the camp of the new unit of the Koro National Guard located 40 kilometers west of Djenné.

Following the response of the sentinel, the assailants fled by abandoning their motorcycles. The next day, the body of an assailant was found 70 meters from the attack site.
