The security post at Woo, a town 47 kilometers from Bandiagara (Mopti region), was the target of a terrorist attack on Wednesday, August 23, shortly before nightfall.
According to the Malian army, the vehicle was hit by ambushed bandit shots. A wounded gendarme eventually succumbed to his wounds.
The missions of the gendarmerie and the National Guard were immediately dispatched to the scene, the army said.
On August 9, a soldier was wounded in an attack in the same area.
