Mali : fifteen terrorists “put out of action” according to the French army

The French antiterrorist operation in the Sahel, Barkhane, claimed to have led, between October 15 and 22, with the Malian forces, “a reconnaissance and control operation” in the area of Tin-Hama, south of Gao.

“The operation kept pressure on terrorist armed groups present in the region”, said the French General Staff.

A little more in the extreme north, in Abeibara in the Kidal region, the French army, talking about its operations on Thursday, announced the “discovery of a position of an armed terrorist group” affiliated to AQIM.

“This operation resulted in a strike by Mirage 2000 followed by a Tiger helicopter intervention and ended with a ground operation”, says the Army General Staff. He added that the operation has put 15 terrorist terrorists out of action of this group dependent on Ansar Eddine (AQIM).

In northern Mali, Barkhane has stepped up anti-terrorist actions, particularly in Kidal, where a heavy search of the home of a wealthy businessman has angered local people.
