Two UN peacekeepers were killed on Tuesday September 5, in the Kidal region when their vehicle jumped on a mine, the UN mission in Mali said.
«A vehicle belonging to a MINUSMA logistics convoy struck a mine or an explosive device about 15 km from Aguelhok as it was heading towards Tessalit», the statement said. The explosion also caused two serious injuries among UN soldiers.
MINUSMA condemned «these terrorist acts (…) which strike without distinction» its «personnel or innocent civilians».
On August 31, a truckload of MINUSMA suppliers was attacked in Gossi, in the Timbuktu region. Two civilians were killed during this attack.
