Mali-Swissleaks investigations : the two journalists file a complaint against x

Following the threats against them on social media, Insults, night calls, Aboubacar Dicko and David Dembélé filed a complaint against x. This was announced by one of the journalists contacted by Sahelien.com, who published the investigation with Dépêches du Mali and Le Monde Afrique. On May 30, the two journalists published an investigation into the offshore accounts in Switzerland of the Mali Bishops Conference (CEM), citing Bishop Zerbo, who was about to be named cardinal. This provoked a thunderclap, especially in religious circles in Bamako, where they denounced “a cabal” aimed at smearing Archbishop Zerbo.

On the basis of this complaint, filed on Thursday, June 8, around 11 am, “the public prosecutor at the High Court of the Bamako’s Commune 5, supported by the police, will open an investigation, says the court.

Reconnaissance missions were carried out by the police at the respective homes of the two journalists to quickly remedy any danger. This complaint comes after Le Monde Afrique, for which the two journalists are collaborators, addressed a letter to Archbishop Zerbo to “protest against received threats”.
