Niger : at least nine civilians killed in an attack in the Diffa region

A new incursion of alleged Boko Haram fighters in the Ngalewa village, located at 6 km northeast of Kablewa, in the Diffa region, caused several deaths yesterday night. During the attack, the attackers abducted women and children.

“They (the attackers, Ed) murdered nine young people. They took away food and abducted thirty women and children”, the mayor of Kablewa, Abari El Hajj Daouda told sahelien.com.

“We don’t have news of the abducted people yet”, he added when we reached him on the phone this afternoon.

On June 28, two kamikaze women activated their load near the refugee camp of Kablewa causing the death of two and a dozen injuries.
