It emerges from the Council of Ministers last Thursday that the mandates of municipal and regional elected representatives are extended by six months from August 17.
This measure does not apply to the five municipal councils of Niamey which are dissolved and therefore managed by special delegations for this purpose.
This extension is the umpteenth of its kind since the legal end of the mandate of the elected representatives, which took place almost two years ago.
