Two policemen and one civilian were killed in an attack on a police station near Tera on Saturday, May 27 at about 10:30 pm, the interior ministry said in a statement. Three policemen were injured and four vehicles damaged.
The police commissioner’s office, serving as an arms depot, was set on fire and several weapons were carried away by the attackers.
On 11 May, the gendarmerie station in Ayorou, north of the Tillaberi region, was the target of an attack. The attackers took away military equipment, after a few exchanges of fire.
